Before delving into Muscle And Fitness ? The Second Key, the final and most important key to success in your muscle and fitness routine, I’d like to remind you about what the previous article discussed.
In a previous article, you were given a number of steps to follow. In summary, Muscle And Fitness ? The Second Key is the ‘DO’ key. This is where you structure your actions to take you to your goals. You must decide which action (Exercise) is the most effective tool to help you achieve that particular goal.
Which brings me to the third and final key:
The ‘BE’ Key
This is what you must BECOME in order to ensure that you take the necessary action to DO whatever it takes to get what you want to HAVE.
You already know what your goals are - The HAVE key
You already know what you have to DO to achieve those goals - The DO key
In order to make sure that you carry out the DO key (your chosen exercises), you must BE the type of person that consistently and persistently follows the routine. You must do this without fail, so that you can have the ideal muscle mass, weight loss, fitness goal or whatever your goal is.
The Great Forgotten Exercise — Parallel Bar Dips

When it comes to building lower pectorals, triceps and frontal deltoids, dips are without doubt one the best exercises I’ve ever used. They are seldom used nowadays and the reasons are plain to see: you have to be able to handle your own bodyweight for reps ? unless you have access to one of those fancy-dan machines that allow you to dip (or chin) with less than body weight.
A correctly done dip has two distinct rep-stroke lengths, two levels: drop down until upper arms are parallel to the floor or go all the way down as far as you can. Either depth works the triceps exquisitely, assuming you lockout hard at the top of every rep and hold that flexion for a beat before lower yet again. The parallel tricep dip is a tricep isolation movement with some slight pectoral and front deltoid stimulation.
The full dip is an entirely different animal. In a full dip you lower down as far as humanly possible ? often you will have to actually relax the muscles of the shoulder girdle in order to achieve the maximum low position. When you start to arise in the full dip the chin is kept on the chest and the athlete ‘leans into’ the dip to trigger the pectoral muscles. At mid-point throw the chin skyward and finish the exercise using the triceps. Again, for maximum tricep stimulation lock the arm out completely and hold the maximum flexion for a full one second count before lowering.

Defences against Knife attacks, Firstly if at all possible get yourself and anyone else out of the potential danger area…..RUN AWAY.
Yes you heard right, run away. This is not a cowards way out, this is sensible. After all your potential assailant could be on drugs or just plain crazy. Nobody needs a dead hero.
However if you can’t get away or you are cornered, try to talk your way out of the situation, tell the guy what he wants to hear or give him what he wants, if it’s a mugging, but only if you think this will pacify him…
Let me explain. If it is apparent that your assailant is going to stab you whether you give him all your money or not then you must do something about the situation before this happens, either way you may get stabbed. Thats why this is a last resort and only attempted if YOU are certain he is going to attack you no matter what.
It’s a judgement call that only you can make and if you ever do end up in that situation it won’t be easy.
So, you’re in that nightmare situation. How do you tackle him ?
Tiger Woods Wins Again

Tiger Woods today strolled to his second British Open Golf title finishing fourteen shots under par, five shots ahead of the veteran, the Scot Colin Montgomerie. It was Tiger’s tenth success in major tournaments and now only Walter Hagen’s eleven majors, and Jack Nicklaus’s total of eighteen lie ahead of him.
Earlier in the week on the Friday Jack Nicklaus had said an emotional farewell to a huge crowd of golf fanatics who applauded him and Tom Watson all the way around the famous old course at Saint Andrews on the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, the headquarters of golf.
But this was Tiger Woods’ tournament and he stretched his lead overnight as all of his rivals failed to put in a strong challenge. One by one they fell by the wayside, and in truth Tiger always gave the impression that should a real challenge have materialised, he would have been able to raise his game. Nevertheless he won by five clear shots to confirm once again, as Colin Montgomerie said afterwards, that he is indeed the leading golfer of his generation, possibly any generation. It wasn’t all bad news for Colin, his second place moved him fifty-nine places up the world rankings to twenty-second.
Are You A One-Dimensional Trainer?

Most people are classically biased toward one of the three legs of the fitness triad: progressive resistance training, cardiovascular training or diet/nutrition. How many folks try and lose weight by dieting and dieting alone? A safe bet would be a majority of individuals. Ever wonder why people who lose a lot of bodyweight rapidly still look fat? It’s because they are still fat.
When the human organism perceives starvation it reverts to a primordial hardwiring that seeks to preserve body fat (the last line of defense against starvation) at all costs. So dieting alone can results in weight loss but when more muscle than body fat is lost as a result of crash dieting, the end result is not all that impressive.
I had a self-indulgent buddy who balloon up from 200 to 350. He eventually went on some sort of weird diet and lost back down to 200. He looked terrible, loose skin, still fat and to make it all worse he was now a ‘diet expert’ and told me and anyone else within earshot how stupid they were to follow any diet other than the one he had used. Of course he still couldn’t catch a ball or walk up a flight of stairs without getting totally gassed.

Assembling Elliptical Trainers — What You Must Know For a Trouble-Free Experience

It’s not rocket science, but…
One thing that you may not be aware of, is that regardless of where you purchase your elliptical trainer, you will need to put the thing together yourself. Some merchants provide in-home assembly for an additional charge, but in most cases it’s just you and a packet full of nuts and bolts.
No need to get too stressed out about it though. If you have any experience at all with a screw driver and putting together assemble-it-yourself furniture you should be fine. The most difficult part is typically lugging the box from your front porch to the room where you will assemble it. Remember, the better the elliptical trainer, the heavier it is going to be.
Some folks complain about certain trainers being too heavy and the unpleasant experience they had moving it. This really isn’t a valid complaint since the extra heft is what you should expect in a good machine. So be sure that you have someone help you move it.
There’s no sense in injuring yourself attempting to move your ticket to better health and fitness!

In the early 50s, long before we were desensitized by today’s special effects, there was a movie called “The Thing”. This black and white flicker took place on the North Pole. Some explorers/scientists found a frozen man (monster) while wandering around outside doing what explorer/scientists do.
They dug up the dude and hauled him inside to preserve him for later study. He was stored in a room where the temp was below freezing. Some jerk accidentally turned up the thermostat and the creature came to life!!! “The Thing” terrorized the citizenry of the North Pole and scared the hell out of me. I could not get “The Thing” out of my mind. I slept with the lights on until just recently.
The first time I broke 80, I was 15 years old…shot 77. This was in Colorado, in the fall. During the winter months, I decided to read a golf instruction book, as it was tough to play in 4 feet of snow. There was a very popular book out at the time that told you EVERYTHING to think of in the golf swing. Many pages were devoted to the right knee, for example. I read the book several times and couldn’t wait for the snow to melt. To my horror, I couldn’t break 90. I was thinking of a bazillion things and could NOT get all this JUNK out of my mind. Just like…You guessed it.. “THE THING.”
Yogic Way of Controlling of Thoughts

As described in my earlier article… thoughts in the mind generate because we have five senses. So broadly there are five kinds of thoughts. Again each thought may either be of pleasure or of pain. This way there are ten types of thoughts. Patanjali further describes each of these ten types of thoughts may be based on proof(pramana), or an opposite(viparyay), or an alternative(vikalpa), or forming sleep(nidra) or forming memory(smriti).
Patanjali emphasized that thoghts based on proof should be accepted, because these are directly perceived. There are six things in the world which can be directly perceived; these are sight, sound, smell, taste, touch and soul(true self). While senses perceive sight, sound, smell, taste and touch, soul(atman) is perceived in the mind through total concentration(samadhi). No seventh thing exists in the whole universe that can be perceived directly. The thought of God and heaven as separate from soul is opposite to proven thought. This is because those who are unable to realise true self or are ignorant about the greatness of true self, depend upon alternative thought or dualism where soul is separate from and inferior to God. Such people remain in constant sleep and bear in themselves all past memories which include all traditional and religious believes and practices.
